Training that will be offered at the
CEN Training and Information Center
 in Petion-Ville

Project Design:
In partnership with The Foundation Center – Washington DC,  we will offer training services through our Petion-Ville local center. Visitors to our center will also have free access to fundraising databases and resource materials. They will be able to attend a wide variety of free classes on topics such as: Project Design, Finding Donors, Fundraising Planning, Developing Proposals, Managing Nonprofits etc.

For a fee, we will also provide tailored and specialized fundraising and organizational and leadership development services to nonprofit organizations, national organizations and associations.

Community Service:
In order to create healthy, prosperous, and safe communities, in partnership with local organizations*, we will provide community service training in schools, churches and other venues to inspire and empower the citizen to serve their communities.  Our community service training will serve to reveal the greatness that is in everyone, by providing education, facilitating community development, and creating opportunities for them to acquire employment skills.

*We have already discussed partnership with local organizations in Haiti that are already providing similar trainings.

Service Learning:
Service learning is a method by which students improve academic learning and develop personal skills through structured service projects that meet community needs. Service learning builds upon students' service activities by providing them with opportunities to learn by preparing, leading, and reflecting upon issues in their communities. (Illinois Board of Education)

We will work with Universities and other schools to have service learning integrated in their academic curriculum. In partnership with universities and colleges in US, we will provide training to educators so that they can facilitate learning by creating opportunities for students to understand and analyze their service experiences in the context of their coursework.

Many studies have suggested that effective service learning programs have the following benefits:

·         improve academic grades;

·         increase attendance in school; and

·         develop personal and social responsibility

*We contacted faculty members and students of University of the District of Columbia and American University to enquire about possible partnership.
